TF Risk Services hosts week-long driver training

A driver's-eye view inside the simulator

TF Risk Services is hosting a week-long driver training program using a state of the art Driver Simulation and Evaluation format. The training will be held from June 5 - 9, 2006 at various TF client locations.

The simulator is housed in a special semi tractor-trailer which arrives at our clients' facilities and sets up a training classroom right in the operations center.

The trailer is equipped with eight computer-operated driver positions. Every two hours, eight drivers enter the trailer. Just like sitting in the driver seat, but connected to a computer, the driver sees on screen what he would see through his windshield, mirrors and all.

During the training, the simulator monitors visual acuity, hand and foot coordination, and measures the judgment to reaction timing.

Drivers can then receive training directly related to their measured performance. They receive a written report which highlights both their driver strengths and areas where they need to improve. For instance, a driver with visual acuity needs may need to have a eye evaluation; those with slower left to right reaction times are advised to take a closer look at their safety checks where their natural reactions are slower.

This personalized, highly valued training is designed for experienced drivers. Several states provide personal insurance discounts for the drivers who successfully attend and maintain this training.

A follow-up session is in the works for fall 2006, with the exact dates yet to be determined. For more information, please contact Robert Schneider, VP Director Risk Management Services.

TF-Risk is a proud sponsor of this onsite driver simulator program!
