Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Continues to Strengthen
P&C Practice with Addition of Risk Management Specialist

Chicago—December 27, 2006—Thilman Filippini, a Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Company (NYSE: HRH), which is Chicago's fourth largest insurance broker and one of the nation's largest insurance intermediaries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Larry Regas, vice president, to its downtown Chicago office. Regas will join the client service team led by HRH Managing Director Michael Pokora, also in the downtown Chicago office.

With 20 years of insurance industry experience, Regas brings a wealth of risk management consulting expertise to Thilman Filippini's (TF)/HRH's Property and Casualty Practice. As a client advocate, Regas will work with clients in all business segments, focusing on larger middle market and risk management clientele.

Prior to TF/HRH, Regas performed in a similar capacity with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. where he concentrated on understanding clients' risks and finding innovative approaches to managing risk. His specialty is in developing, designing and optimizing various risk retentions and transfer methods to achieve optimal cost savings for his clients.

Regas's background also includes extensive experience on the underwriting side of the business. Most recently with CNA's Major Markets Unit, Regas worked with accounts with a total cost of risk in excess of $10mm. Regas resides in Naperville, Illinois with his wife Kris and three children.
